On July 15, Ph.D. candidate Alba Campo Rosillo presented a paper at the conference "New Perspectives on Portraiture," organized by Dr. Ludmilla Jordanova at Durham University in Durham, North East England. Alba's paper "Between the Marvel and the Industrial: Charles Goodyear’s Portrait as a Man of Science" discussed the portrait that G.P.A. Healy painted of the inventor Goodyear in 1855 and exhibited at the Paris World Exhibition as a strategy in material branding of a complex occupational identity.
