On Friday, October 26 at 1:30 p.m., in Old College Hall, Room 211: "On Art and Feminism: A Workshop with Jo Applin."
Jo Applin is Head of the History of Art Department at the Courtauld Institute of Art and a specialist in modern and contemporary art, with an emphasis on American art since 1960. The author of six books and numerous articles, she is Reviews Editor for the Oxford Art Journal and serves on the board of the Terra-Tate Research Project "Refiguring American Art 1945-1980."
Professor Applin will speaking about her recent research on artists including Yayoi Kusama, Lee Lozano, and Lee Bontecou--and her current research on the subject of aging and abstraction. Participants are encouraged to peruse some of Professor Applin's publications in advance of the workshop (copies are available in the Art History office, Old College 318).
