​Professor and Department Chair Lawrence Nees was invited to present the opening keynote lecture for the symposium, “Manuscripts in the Anglo-Saxon Kingdom." The symposium took place in conjunction with the British Library's major exhibition, “Anglo-Saxon Kingdoms: Art, Word, War." Dr. Nees' keynote lecture, “The European Context of Manuscript Illumination in the Anglo-Saxon Kingdoms, 600–900," can be streamed in full here
