This semester, Professor Jennifer Van Horn taught "The Material and Visual Culture of Slavery," which met often at Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library. One of the goals of the course was to examine how to use Winterthur's collection to tell a more complex history that focused directly on enslaved people's experiences in North America. As part of that, students created a set of object videos focused on Winterthur collection objects which will be featured online and also showcased at a student-developed exhibition in the Winterthur Museum Galleries in the spring of 2018.
