The New York Times quoted La Tanya S. Autry, a Ph.D. candidate and fellow at the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland, in "Displaying, not Hiding, the Reality of Slave Labor in Art." The article discusses the Chrysler Museum's exhibit Thomas Jefferson, Architect, which explores Jefferson's influence on architecture and highlights the enslaved craftsmen who constructed his designs. Autry provided the newspaper with her insight on African American representation in museums.
"It's interesting to see in the last several years, there's been more effort or more openness to actually start questioning things, such as wall labels and thinking about how we show objects," she stated.
