    Research Interests

    Nineteenth- and early twentieth-century American art, decorative arts, and photography; Louis Comfort Tiffany; collection and archival histories; museum and curatorial studies.

    Biography

    Jalena Jampolsky is a Ph.D. student focusing on nineteenth- and early twentieth-century American art and photography. She received her M.A. in the History of Art and Archeology from New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts; and received her B.A. with honors in the History of Art and Visual Culture from University of California, Santa Cruz. During the last two years, she was the Henry Luce Foundation Research Associate of American Art at the Newark Museum. Jampolsky was also the Tiffany and Co. Foundation Curatorial Intern in American Decorative Arts at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (2016-17). Her research focused on the use of photography in American decorative arts, specifically Tiffany Studios.
