​Genevieve Westerby is a doctoral candidate in Art History at the University of Delaware specializing in nineteenth-century European art. Her dissertation explores connections between fluvial infrastructure projects, environmental issues, and late nineteenth-century French painting. Previously, she was a research associate at the Art Institute of Chicago in the Department of Painting and Sculpture of Europe, where she worked on a digital collection catalogue and two major multi-venue exhibitions. She has since held internships at the National Gallery of Art in D.C. and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and recently completed an assistantship at the Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library. She earned her MA in Art History from the University of Denver and a BA in Art History from Webster University in St. Louis.
