Alumnus Alan C. Braddock (Ph.D. 2002) will present a paper at the National Gallery in London as part of the conference "Thomas Cole: Location and Dislocation in the Age of Empires," taking place October 5-6. Braddock is currently the Ralph H. Wark Associate Professor of Art History & American Studies at the he College of William & Mary. HIs paper is titled "No Pic-Nic: Ecology and the Trouble with Wilderness in American Landscape Art."

This conference marks the end of the exhibition Thomas Cole: Eden to Empire. For more information, visit the National Gallery website.
