Ph.D. candidate and Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Predoctoral Fellow at the Museum of the City of New York Craig Lee presented at the museum last week. His talk, titled "Signs in the City: Outdoor Advertising and the New York City Skyline," discussed how the advent of billboards and illuminated signs in New York City at the turn of the 20th century transitioned in the public eye from blight to official landmarks. This talk, predominantly for educators, was part of the lecture series "New York Under the Lens: Educator Evenings at the Museum of the City of New York."
