The mission of the Department of Art History is to advance knowledge and education critical to the understanding, research, and writing about the history, traditions, and objects of art within a wide range of global and cultural contexts. Assessment is an ongoing process in which faculty establish clear, measurable, expected outcomes of student learning; ensure that students have sufficient opportunities to achieve those outcomes; systematically gather, analyze, and interpret evidence to determine how well student learning matches expectations; and reformulate educational outcomes based on the results of such assessment.
