Ph.D. candidate Ashley Rye-Kopec recently published the article, "A Surprising Souvenir? Thomas Moran's Venetian Gondola," in Common-place.

This fascinating look at gondolas in America relates to Ashley's dissertation research, which examines depictions of Venetian laborers in British and American art in the late nineteenth century.
