​Alison Terndrup (she/her) is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Art History at the University of Delaware, where she teaches courses on Arts of the Islamic World, Modern and 19th-century Art, and Rulers' Images. She has over six years of experience in academic research and teaching, including positions as a Post Graduate Teaching Fellow at Northeastern University and as an Institute of Turkish Studies-Koç Holding Research Fellow in Istanbul. She holds a PhD in Art History from Boston University.

Her research spans the fields of Islamic and nineteenth-century art histories, focusing on the topics of Ottoman imperial and sub-imperial identities, cross-cultural encounters, and the use of visual arts in supporting ideologies of power. She has also received multiple travel grants to conduct archival research in Turkey, Serbia, and Romania. She has presented related findings at several international conferences. Dr. Terndrup is committed to advancing the field of Islamic and Ottoman art history by engaging in critical interventions and fostering rigorous academic dialogs.​​
